i forgot the Econ-Placer, Hercules and George Priddy's (one of my heros) favorite, the Pump-it.

It is important to note that Thomson was 600 then 700 then 800 then Big Bob Weatherton"s (another hero) 2001

They may not have been the good old days; but they dam sure were the old days........... I am glad they are past.

These new pumps are really something. Man they PUMP!!!

Can you imagine wheeling up on a job in 1970 with a 65 Meter - Trick paint, aluminum wheels, bad ass pump and a boom that gets lost in the fog, THAT would have been a trip.

I am not that old but have been pumping for a while. I am 36 yrs old and have been pumping since 1989. The first boom I ever ran was a whiteman. It was for a company based out of Belton TX, called All American Concrete Pumping with main yard in Austin at the time.  I remeber a couple of older guys who worked there, now own their own pump companies in Austin. Hunter concrete pumping and Viking Concrete Pumping. Jim Ledger was owner. The next company I worked for ran a Morgen, Thompson, Econ, Gate Valve Swing, Putz, talk about mixed races. It was a challenge to keep everything running.  Man how time flys!!

as a kid, during the school holidays, i would go and watch big sister's hubby spray pools, a machine they called the coffee grinder, a man aloft shoveling the crap down the shute into it, a disc like chain dragging the stuff thru a rubber thingo setup into a 2 inch pipe [i am sure it was 2], an airline connection back to a beast that had 600cfm painted across its guts, pipeline laid out up the driveway and out the back to someones new must have [pool]. as i said i was only a boy at the time and spent most of my time about 3 houses away, i found nothing interesting about a bloke holding up a nozzle about 15 inches long and getting bounced around a reo cage nor did i kind it intriging how that bloke could shovel for so long into that thing that seemed to break alot, and i thought all constuction equipment must sound like jumbo jets at full thrust taking off.

this all happened a little while before the brother in law and his mates {partners} placed their order for the brand new '76 model squeezie line pump [that use to block up too haha]

thats over 30 yrs ago, loved it then, love it now and every little bit in between.
