How to keep the splatter off of your pump when folding up to move or wash out using a single ended tip hose. You need: 1. piece of bicycle inner-tube about 2†wide 2. shop rag, plastic, old hat, whatever Suck the sponge – water wash – leave the concrete in the pipes (your choice). Place the whatever over the end of the hose and snap on the piece of inner-tube over the whatever and live happily ever after. NO drips / NO mess / NO problem! When you are ready to go again, snap off, shake the whatever and put it on top of your outrigger for next time.
or stick a dry sponge in there. ;~) |

Good tip Bob- When moving onsite to set-up again, everytime i've kinked the hose, put a sponge in the end of the hose and folded up the boom - there's always a little drip. I've timed myself, and i've found that in the time it takes me to mess with shaking out the hose and kinking it and putting the 'no-drip' sponge in the end...i can simply remove the hose and put a cap on the elbow. If I'm running a 5-4 reducer, i've got a different cap with a 2' rod welded to it so when the booms folding up, the rod catches in the cradle for the hose. |
