How many company are laying off employees, one company just layed off 12 people in Dallas. bad sign of the times. And it just plain sucks.

Sign of the times is right.

If it was up to your company you would be working 65 hours a week.

Sign up for unemployment FIRST; then look for another job.

I wish you, and all of you well.

Unfortunately, a lot of people thought that the boom was going to go on forever and ever. When I started pumping concrete, a wise old pumper told me to "put my acorns away so you don't have to worry if it rains all winter" Hopefully it quits "raining" soon and we can all go back to work and maybe even make a little $$$

Many companies not just here in GA are laying off ppl but across the US. Just be thankful if you still have a job.

A true sign of the times.  I have seen a few things happen that has brought us to this.  The biggest thing is the trade agreement that Clinton signed in.  No, I'm not picking on him or trying to start a political discussion.  This was an agreement that was worked on by both sides.  It just shouldn't have ever happened the way it did.  Too much of our work has been sold out to other countries.  If you aren't a computer Wiz these days, then there just isn't much to do.  What are we becomming?  We need to bring back our production here in the U.S.

Secondly, I look back at all these condos' and apartment buildings I pumped.  There seems to be more and more of these going up instead of houses.  This tells me the majority of the Americans are getting lazy and don't want the burdens of owning a house.  They don't have to mow, or paint.  Just let someone else (illegal alien) do it for me.

I know of several factory buildings sitting vacant right now.  Our industry is going away at a rate you can't believe.

We need to straighten out Wall Street.  NO MORE BAIL OUTS!  This is costing all of us, and the C.E.O.'s are walking away with millions.  We also need to re-vamp the trade agreements and bring back the American jobs.  Oh, I forgot one thing..... Americans need to be re-introduced to what WORK really is.
