This is a question for all ? there was a post saying bb is the leader in this industry, I say we need a new one, a profitable one , one that has excellent equipment, excellent safety record , qualified operators, someone who operates with morals and ethics, who treat their employees as people and not machines, and that makes a true effort to not only better their company but the industry as a whole, I do know we are in the pumping industry and all these stipulations we may never find a company that meets them all but maybe so you never know.

1. O'Brien Concrete Pumping
Richard O'Brien helped start the ACPA and many companies use his job ticket and job costing still today. He has always promoted safe pumping and making money. He is successful and had diversified.

2. PumpCrete
Ken Williams Jr and his family think out of the box and for some reason stay under the radar. I love how most of PumpCrete's operators are lifers and how they take care of their customers and their employees. PumpCrete also does more of the crazy innovative jobs around the world.

3. ACI Concrete Pumping.
Matt Kaminsky is a business man and is very pro active in our industry. Matt Kaminsky is always two steps ahead of everyone. I think that we will all see more of this company soon.

4. Central Concrete Pumping
Carl Walker and his family are just what this industry needs the perfect mix between business and personality always on top and professional.

WOW TODD,anouther BBCP slam,AND your adding to it?sorry just reading what i see.as to the post,a profitable one?why would you send a pump out and not make a buck.post a list of companie's that are wright now?Excellent Equipment-they have them and run a excellent service plan on all of them.Operator's-verry qualified and are not treated like a machine.just the pump's are.Excellent safty record- no pump company has one.( not even the one yellowstone own's or work's for). Morals and ethics there is not a salesman for ANY COMPANY that has not stepped on to a jobsite and said a good word about anouther company to get the job for them.BBCP has put in place some verry good safty measure's for the idustry as a whole.it's been ruff to say the lease.THOSE of you that keep blaming BB for all that has happend.stop/think/then speek.Did BBCP make the ECONOMY what it is? NO.Did BBCP crash the stock market? NO! IS BBCP Doing the best they can to keep their door's open and their operator's working? YES! That's not at your expense.the economy did this to all of us not BBCP. THEY ARE STILL HERE! Operator's go out every day and lay slick line and run mud through their boom's all across the U.S. ( Put the blame where you wont, the economy did this to us all,not BBCP)

hey hardface I wasnt bashing BB but hey they cannot lead a industry when theyre in so much turmoil, if the economy is so bad why is it that some of us are still not in bankruptcy and yes, guess what ? turning a profit, so I dont need a so-called leader that cant even keep their own business straight, I'm looking for the leader for this generation and hardface BB isnt it we have seen were their business practices have gotten them, I'm looking for the new generation of concrete pumping to lead the ones that do not go into towns pump for free just trying to put smaller companies out of business, a company that doesnt over extend to the point that when there pumps get repoed it kills the value of all our pumps, the economy did what it did and BB did not prepare for it,just as pumpco didnt and look what the valuation of all our pumps are, pennies on the dollar, so you can spout off all you want the economy didnt kill BB ,greed, arrogance, and poor business practices did and in the end thats the truth !

On a side note, the company in question has made huge leaps in safety for all to follow.

I am not bagging on BB. Brundage has one of the best safety programs around and has come up with some of the greatest safety products I have seen but I dont see them or any company as a industry leader. The ACPA offers some leadership, CPMA offers some leadership but that is not the job of a company to lead an industry. Our industry leaders would have to be companies in the ACPA that are helping to lead our industry. That is why my list comprised of all ACPA board members or ACPA members. BB is not currently a member of the ACPA but I think that will change someday soon.

BB doe's not go in to little town's and pump for free.truck's that where leassed where turned into the leasing c.o.and a lot where sold not repoed. Who could tell when and at what point the economy would do and did at the time that it did? not me not you.No doudt bb is was and still is big.how i ask can everyone say and preach that bb has or did bad business?is anyone in there office a supper stockmarket freek that can see far in the future? DONT THINK SO! they are fighter's, they just did not let it go.some do not agree with a bankruptcy, but they have been fighting to keep the door's open and the pump's running.remember this-we the operator's run the pump's not them.keeping the door's open and the pump's running benefits us all at BBCP that's a lot of(people) not just operator's. as for greed, arrogance and bad business practice's come on! the economy knocked there leg's out from under them,Did they cry about it? hell no. they are getting back up knocking the dust off.there business is straight and the only turmoil is what we all read on here.

sorry if ya took that as a come back bignasty not aimed at you.just getting tired of it all. bb did this bb did that.omg bb's going to do this.ya cant tell me that not one outher pump company has not filled bankruptcy? it's not just BBCP.bb just choose to keep going and not through it away like the outher's.look at what they dumped on the market in their bankruptcy's.

I have personally grown up in the industry watching companies come and go...some successful some deplorable...I worked for what I and the industry should and demand what a pumping company represents from safety to customer service to employee satisfaction....they are profitable and successful through all the tough times in the economy...growing to the largest in the Dallas fort worth metroplex at times when the so called number one companies were folding....the employee morality is off the charts especially when times were hard...the owners have been pumping concrete for a combined of about 70 years. Well if you haven't figured out who I'm talking about yet its vista ridge concrete pumping. They are leaders of the industry they don't need to be elected voted or nominated....there success and excellent records prove this....I have now moved into a completely different carrer now as manager in a growing company in which I have used the skills, techniques, management theories and morals that were instilled upon me at Vista Ridge Concrete Pumping....thanks guys for an awesome opportunity to be apart of this...if you want to have a taste of what they are about check them out at WWW.vrcpinc.com and to all the guys at Vista ridge you are pioneers and leaders of the industry!

Good for you lee82 I hope you will be at least half as successfull as your former employer. BBCP was a pretty safe company with some good ideas and people (some). Unfortunately greed at the top killed their company. The economy didn't kill them. Their inability to get a decent return on their pricing for their services. If you can't see that you are just plain ignorant or stupid or both.
