Getting ready to buy a 750-18x.  Looking for some suggestions on truck choices.  I'm thinking about buying a Dodge of Ford 350-450 size truck with a chassis cab. Then mounting a short stake or flat bed on it.  On top of that I will put a 200 gallon water tank towards the front of the truck with either a gas or electric water pump and perhaps a power washer.  Looking for some suggestions as to the length of the truck, am I better off buying a longer truck and laying the 10' pipe and hose flat (4") or getting a shorter truck and making a rack to angle them over the cab.  Any opinions greatly appreciated thanks. a ten foot bed is perfict, i like everything on the deck. i have my hose in 17 foot all horse shoed, i can pick one from the center and take it to the ground and pull the the other side off.  

your pump is heavy and having 4x4 means you have low range two wheel drive for backing and hills.

i have a 50 gallon poly agricultural tank with a 1.25 inch hose that is just gravity but i think 200 gallons x 8 lbs. is a lot more than you need.

a ford 450 would be a good call.

i have a 3 foot steel pin that i bent the tip to a 90 that i use to scratch the bottom of the tube so the stuff gets losend up to wash out.

Have u ever considered getting a truck-mounted line pump? I have mine on a little T300 KW. I like it really well, but it mite not work as well in your situation.

I would love a truck mounted line pump, but from my calculations I can save around $50000 or so with this setup and really only lose the convience of having a one piece set-up instead of the pain of towing something.  And the re-sale of the equipment, which I don't really ever plan on selling anyways.

Before one considers that area look at weight of pump,amount of system carried,water will help you decide what gvw rated truck you need.Have you looked at http://www.truckpaper.com/ as it may provide you with other options.You new pump wouldn't have to be mounted on a new truck.
