I've used to blow it out into a 'big bag', preferably on a trolley, so you can take it outside, or better onto a pickup. |

I used to have a special designed clamp and end hook that i clamped to the mixer truck and water washed into the drum. worked great. |

Let me clarify, I need pics or suggestions for carrying your own water to wash out with. Like what type of water pump you use and so forth. Thanks though. |

Buddy I built a 250 gallon tank that is set on a pedisal above my pump with a 1 1/2 inch line that has a ball valve feeding my hopper, my pictures are of the wrong size for this site, I am on lots of jobs that don't have water. |

Mike heres how I wash out my line pump I use only 2 1/2 hose when you get the hopper pump down of concrete remove the hose start filling your hopper with water if you are not on the street start pumping the hopper about 3 strokes that should clear all the mud out of the manifold the take some wet newspaper make a ball and insert it in your hose then reconnect to the pump ,start stroking til the paper comes out the end, one time is enough then start taking everything apart but before you put your hose's up roll each one of them all the sand and gravel will come out make a loop in the hose say 3 ft tall we do it everytime even if we have to clean out while wait for more concrete by doing that it help on repriming cause no air pockets will be in the hose which can cause you to plug, Iwill send one of my pictures to Todd so he can down size them to fit. |

if you have 200 foot out and the customer cannot help you drag the line back to the truck just bust the first hose off and hook up to the truck to wash while you move the rest of your line to reconnect it. |

I took two mixer truck water tanks and welded them together, welded a base to the tank and mounted it up forward on a flat bed truck. Put a 400 gph bildge pump in it that was 12 volt, 3/4 inch pipe down the bed of the truck. carry a clear hose that i slid over the end and reached the hopper easily, nothing like it when you need water and there isnt any! |

Thats awesome, thanks guys. Has anybody used and electric water pump. I have a generator already mounted on the truck so for $$$ I guess an electric work if it put out enough gpm and pressure. Brands and any info would be awesome. |

Remember, If you have a decent source of water pressure, the sytem can be blown out the same way with water as it is with air. Instead of attaching air to the blowout cap attach a water hose and a tight fitting rubber/sponge ball. |

Woud a pressure washer work? Off of a portable tank like Big Ed's in the pic. above |
||
Pump N00b | 05-05-2009 | reply profile send pm notify |
A pressure washer would work, if you had the time. |

A pressure washer is not fast enough for filling the hopper for clean out unless thats all you got, that why I have a large pipe that runs from my tank to the rear of my pump as long as I amsetting level or angle up hill I can fill my hopper in a min or so. |
