Line pumpers what would you do?

Get to the job, no slick pack or cement, and concrete shows up early. Closest home depot is an hour away. How would you prime a couple hundred feet?

If it were me, I would do one or two pipe at a time. It sucks but that what i would do.I sure some guys will use water and go as far as they can. But my way is less mess.

Good luck Hope it works

i have a 3 gal round bucket and one with courners like a laundry soap pail; put a quart of water in each then fill one with mud off the pump; mix them back and forth 4 times min. to separate the rock, put that one down your tip and roll your hose back for the 100 ft; mix another for the line at the pump, hook it up and blast off; lime works best.

A bucket of water and dirt and diesel oil will do the trick as well. a 5 gallon bucket of that concoction ever 50ft should work

Ive been in the same position plenty of times!my first option is desiel, about the same amount as a normal slurry. The only problem with using that is that the concrete may segregate and block up.To overcome this I try to pump the first bit dry(not add water).Another option is top soil from a garden!Just make sure the owner isnt looking while you dig it up.Good old soil has got me out of trouble alot of times.

well this might not help but i use straight water. i run a T/A 650 ball valve pump. i almays prime my pump with water, it\'s the way i was taught to do it 3 years ago. the only time i mix a slurry is if i have 300+ feet of hose out.

try just water in hopper and pour a couple buckets in the tip hose and chase it back to the pipe not as good as grout but better than nothing

If there is dirt where you are you might think about making some MUD and using it to prime. It works very well.

Pour it out!

usually id go 2-3 pipe at a time and run water back for each hose. ive done the top soil trick once and that worked for bout 150 ft of 3\" hose.

Littlepumper, just curious what kind of soap you\'ve used. I know that sunlight dishsoap will kill a load of concrete you\'ll have a 250 slump for bout 2 weeks, that was half a bottle in my hopper. If any one could explain why it does that id be gratefull.

thnx and hi to all byt the way

Dawn dishwashing soap is a poor mans air entrainment. 1/2 of a small bottle will fluff up the load and increase the air content to 18%. A 5000 psi mix will end up less than 3000 psi in 28 days.
