Hello all~ I've got a job at a apartment building that is framed and will be pumping into basement through a hole in the floor. I will be using 4" rubber and steel. My question is do I have to have radius pipe to go from the floor through the hole into the basement or will the rubber hose work with out kinking? I would use radius pipe if I had one but not sure I can find one in time. Suggestions ? Thanks |

The 90 would be the best option, even reenforced hoses tend to kink.Keep on your toes for plugging, the drop will get you. |

Figure out someway to tie it up to keep it from kinking. |

LAY A PIECE OF 6" PVC NEXT TO THE HOLE FOR THE HOSE TO ROLL OVER AND INTO THE HOLE. |

I think those are all great ideas. Just don't prime out to fast or you will plug, if your just going down one floor it shouldn't be a real big deal. I would find another pump company and call and ask if you could borrow a 90 cause that would be a lot safer

Boy 4" is some heavy stuff to go vertical. But like Ed said get a come along or ratchet strap, wrap it around the hose 2-3 times so it won't slip then tie it up to relieve the pressure. |

cut a quarter out of a tire rim (90 degree cut) and strap it to the hose. |
