Right now I have a ford 550 manual crew cab 4wd, 9 ft bed on it, has 125 gallon water tank with pump, tool box under the bed, we store clamps and tool in the box and the back seat right now, looking for a chasi with 13-14ft bed on it to pull my 8000 lb schwing 1000, I have 25' hose and can haul 200ft of pipe and 200' of 3', 125' of 2' and 50' of 4'' looking to make a rack on top of the bed on the new truck with a bigger water tank. I need some ideas on what works best. show some pics . thanks! |

racks suck. your setup is nice. I run 17 foot hose because it stacks perfict with all the couplers at the cab of the truck. |

I run a f450 regular cab with a 12' flatbed. I keep 250' of 2.5" hose on board at all times that are 25' lengths. If I need more for a particular job my customers know to ask for it unless they're new customers then I ask them. I keep them in a U shape with the U at the back of the cab in the back where the tailgate would be I fabricated a box with 3 sections. Left section I keep 5 gallon bucket full of my slurry powder and an empty bucket to mix it in, center box I keep my clamps, right section I keep a tarp to wrap my pump and outrigger pads. The hoses just fit and don't hang out the back off the end of the bed unless I'm dog tired and do a sloppy load up and run! Haha I have 3" line at the yard but I don't keep it on my rig, my regular customers know to ask for it if it's needed and again if it's a new customer that's one of the many questions I ask when they call. |

There use to be a guy where I am with a van for a tow rig, it wasnt mounted like this though! Hahaha that looks like a real pain in the ass. I'm surprised the white van isn't dragging its ass all the way down the road and scraping. The guy in town here with the van eventually cut the back of his van off and turned it into a hillbilly truck, and eventually went out of business or moved I dunno?! I don't really have much to say about the red van they both look like a real joy to work with.... Just last week I saw a guy towing a peagravel mayco with a Ford Ranger! I didn't take any pics though because I was driving. When he saw me he covered his face like he was embarrassed! It was too funny! |
