i am getting a electronic malfunction and shut down alarm, the engine kills. i canuse the override and it will start and the alarms will clear. the blink code in the V-MACK book says it is shutting down on a low oil pressure , but the guage shows 60 psi. i am thinking it is a sensor has any one else had this problem. it is an 2007 model with a putz

Hey mate

i have the same problem with mine i cannot fix the electronic light but the shut down light i fixed on two trucks with anti freeze. there is a sensor in the tank and when it gets low the shut down light comes on.

hope this helps.

there are 2 sensors for oil pressure.  one for the gauge and one for the ecm.  I can't tell you exactly where they are.  It's either the sensor or a wiring issue.  if all else fails Mack should be able to disable the shutdown mode for this issue.

I recently had this problem with a 2000 model-it turned out to be the sensor in the bottom of the coolant tank. Electronic malfunction light would come on and shut down the engine but then immediately allow me to restart. Oil pressure was good so I changed the sensor out and solved the issue!

the coolant level is fine, the blink code on the v mack indicates low oil pressure

Had this problem last week on a 1999 MR.  The gauge was reading 10psi higher than the ECM.  The Gauge was correct - checked using a calibrated mechanical gauge.  Had the ECM sensor changed and the problem went away.  In the mean time, the dealer removed the "shutdown on low oil pressure" command.  The light will still come on with the buzzer, but it won't shut down.  I haven't seen any lights or buzzers since, so the sensor appears to be the culprit.
