I drive a 1996 MR Mach.About A month ago the turbo started to whistle.My mechanic said it's fine. But it is driving me nuts.I tried to tighten all the bolts everything is tight.Hope someone can help. Thanks Ruck |

are you sure its the turbo,check your air intake and air filter I saw an air intake crack and it caused a whistling noise |

I took soapy water and sprayed it on my turbo (when cool and running). I found a crack on the exhaust side of the snail housing. I had to buy a new turbo (midwest equipment) $900. Now my motor runs great, no more smoking, and lots more power. |

might sound a little silly but it could be the centimax filter one of mine sounded like the starter was engaged mack changed starter still the same couple weeks later changed the oil noise gone changed oil last week sounds like the turbo going but can feel it threw filter canister good luck |

Knee and Pudg,It started right after I changed the oil filters and oil,And the air filter.Someone else said the air filter also.I took it off and check it but still there.I will check again . Thank you all Ruck |

Take the weather cap off of air intake and see if it still whistles. Sometimes, weather cap can get stepped on and they collapse. |

I ONCE HAD A HEAD GASKET REPLACED AND SOMETHING GOT INTO THE TURBO AND IT WAS GONE IN ABOUT A WEEK THEY ARE LUBRICATED BY OIL SO MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE YOUR OIL |
