Got a question for all you mack boys out there. I'm running a schwing 32m on a '98 mack chassis with the E7 powertrain. Problem is I'm going through belts way to fast. damn belts are always squeling. I've checked and rechecked the water pump, the pulleys, used a framing square to make sure they all line up, everything. Can't figure it out. Anyone else out there have the same problem, or is it just me. Starting to think it's just a damn design flaw. The squeling's getting damn old though, I can tell you that!! |

Get a 2005 or newer and you won't hear the squealing belt |

Sounds like you need a new tensioner |

Check the tensioner pulley. We had a truck that was wearing belts out fast too and that's what we had to do. Ours was a 2007 I believe. After we changed the tensioner pulley the problem went away. |
