Hey ive got a 2001 mack E7 350 and it spits and sputters and blows abunch of white smoke at low end acceleration, like when i take off at green lights .Doesnt matter if its cold or warmed up it just does it at random.I took it to mack dealer and they couldnt find anything wrong with it when hooked to computer, but also couldnt get it to miss then eihter.could this be an injector?it also has individual injection pumps fpr each cylinder.

you may have coolant diluted in the fuel;check your coolant level and see if the level goes down, if I rememeber right there is a seal ring at the bottom of the injector,if that seal is broken, coolant gets mixed with fuel

check the cold air intake in front of the radiator, the blue hoses connecting the pipes or the air filter may have collapsed.

Good question. lots of great answers. Let us know what you find out. I'm actually loosing coolant in my 02, don't know where its going? I have to add about a 1/2 gallon every month or two.

I had 5 showing a code and replaced the unit pump 350 bucks ended up being the booster pump could be alot of things but if that booster pump hasn't been changed it's the cheapest place to start, good luck

wow is you said it some times has a dead spot i would say it could be computer malfunction just like mine this spring took them a while to figure it out but that fixed it the shop would bring it in and you could pull exhaust and it would be a random cylinder dumping fuel change injectors and pumps did the same thing good luck

oh yeah to make it do it you might try putting it down in the low low whole and see if you can make it blow the white smoke mine would almost every time right around 1500 rpm

White smoke sounds like a water or coolant issue. Have the fuel filters been changed lately? Does the truck have a water separator on it? One of our older trucks has a water separator mounted on the frame behind the fuel tank with a filter element that was clogged and was running similar to what you describe.
