Hello all, I just want to take a moment to talk to you all about anincident that happened today in hopes that it may prevent one of you from getting hurt some day.

Today on a high rise that I work on regularly a man was killed, he was killed when an air compressor that was being moved to be used for blowback fell from the crane, striking him and killing him quickly. of course everything will be investigated but it appears that improper rigging caused the compressor to fall. We will know more in the coming days but what we do know now is that this man will not be going home to his family tonght or ever again. Im sure he didnt expect to get hurt today when he walked out the door this morning and neither did his family.

The man was an iron worker that was simply doing his job.

You never know when your time could come, but we can all make an effort to be as safe as we possibly can be. Don't get in a hurry, double check your rigging, dont stand under overhead loads. The list could go on for days, but alot of times its the things we do the most that end up hurting us as we become complacent and let our guards down.

Tomorrow when you go back to work keep this in the back of yor mind, maybe it will keep you from cheating on the dunnage, or getting a little too close to those wires. Life is precious and can be over in a split second, by being a little safer and making the right decisions the life you save may be your own. Im sure your family and friends will be happy to have you home every night.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, be safe out there.
