I know these guys.. The are a very serious company. Ok this is officialy not alowed but the thing he is lifting is not very heavy. And the way he takes it on the 2nd section that weight will not be a problem for the boom.

But you are actualy right.. Its not alowed and not 100% safe... Undecided Its kind of an unfair advantage to the competitors. They have this 'system' on all their smaler pumps.

I always wonder.. Being so stupid to use your pump as a crane is one thing. But letting them take pictures of it and spreading them is even worse.. Anyone remember that video of that guy that used his boom to lift up a whole car !!

And not far fetched.  I never belived the Putz 31-5 could have the boom over the cab folded up and drive ahead until buddy put up pics right from the Putz OEM.

The operator who was doing this posted it himself on a different forum and after many comments about the reprocussions he could have down the road, he still wasn't convinced. He said his company has been commencing this practice for years. It's not a crane, it's a concrete pump and to me, that looks like it is way over the allowable weight you are allowed to hang from any boom. There are so many factors involved that could cause reprocussions immediately or in the future.

Boom repairs cost big bucks. There is alot going on inside those square tubes you call a boom section.
