I'm looking into purchacing a Mayco C30HDNI with a Nissan Engine. What are the pros and cons of this punp with the Nissan engine? Has anyone had a problem with the Nissan not having enough HP? |

I assume you are comparing the engine to a Wisconsin VH4D.
Pros: 1. More usable power. Both higher HP and more torque within the usable rpm ranges. 2. Much lower vibration, especially at idle. This reduces mix segregation risk as well as long term vibration damage to the unit itself. 3. Much quieter. 4. Nissan A15 more reliable. On balance, if you do the maintenace (change oil, air filter clean, good fuel, etc.) the engine should last longer with fewer annoying breakdowns then a Wisconsin. 5. Fuel injection will give better fuel economy and eliminate such environmental condition annoyances such as vapor lock.
Cons: 1. First generation fuel injection system. Reliability never hit the design target without strict maintenance. Especially true for the Precision throttle Body. Zenith throttle body was a big improvement. 2. Parts will need to be sourced through Nissan dealers (except for fuel injection system). Engine was used in thousands of forklifts so parts can be sourced. 3. Unless you have real engine skills, may be more problematic to work on then the Wisconsin.
Hope that helps. Message me the Unit S/N (not the engine S/N) and I will get you the history on the unit. RJB
