I was on a pour today pumping on a 2nd and third story remodel. In the hopper, which was full, sits 6000 PSI mud . As I was finishing the pour I look out the window and the mixer was just driving away, talk about getting excited, luckily my dispatcher was able to get the mixer back, but I had to wait a short time. The question I still have is who told the driver to leave????

No matter what I say it would be offensive, but here it is anyway.

Those of us that have been burned before know the risks, this is why we carried sugar. You can bet your bottom buck it has happend to most of us.

Now ask yourself this, what would you have done if the mixer hadn't returned?.I could guess many outcomes.

no one told the driver to leave, he left on his own. It is the same scenario with alot of these mixer drivers they dont understand there is more to there job then spinning a drum. The guy is just being impatient and a jerk, because in my eyes if he cant read the job ticket and see he is the last truck at a job that requires you to pump back into him he should give up being a mixer driver and get a nine to five job where he can run home as soon as it is five!! welcome to concrete the world of broken plans and late nights if you cant handle it... then beat it!

Scott-

get that on your speed dial.

Sounds like a Glacier move.

Same thing happened to me earlier this summer.  I just moved the boom around to recirculate the mud.  I told the contractor what happened and nicely reminded him that the meter's runnin'.

Raymond

You are right on all parts.

To the others

I had a spot eyeballed to dump before I even got started. One thing I learned many years ago is to search for a spot to wash as your coming in the gate, even if the super disapproves. I felt that I would share to you all an experience that I hope doesn't happen again. Thanks for the replies.
