How you guys after so many years on the job still insist on a steel belted end hose is beyond me. Those 85 Bar steel end hoses should only be used to hook boom to a static line. Otherwise you should be sourcing textile reinforced much safer, lighter rated lower pressure but a drop hose is just that a, A DROP HOSE!

Yeah reg everest ! Rob smiled !!! Hmm i thought i was going to be killed when he smiled , i flinched then stood there in orr cant remember ever seening him smile .. then he went back to his usuall self and jumped on the ride on!

PUMBO i hate rags! if you can tell me why there safer im all ears , rags dont last long , as soon as you get 3000m3 in them you cant suck a spoonge through them, there floppy and harder to push , i cant see anything good about them , but like i said if you know why there safer im all ears .... ( I dont mean to sound like a smart arse)  :)

If you don't like the floppy textile hoses you should look at some Kevlar reinforced hoses.
Very light and stiff, so easy to push around and they don't collapse when you suck your balls.
And they are thinner then normal steel and textile hoses, so fit easier inside forms.
And crews love'em since they are so light, but they are a bit pricey, 50% more than steel hoses...

Drewy plenty of advantages, about a third of the weight of a steel belted hose, 4.5" lasts even with high output around 8000cubes, less weight at the tip AND/OR extra 500mm makes for easy day even on 250+m3 pours, reducer built in the nozzle with carbide inserts, hoseman can get better levels easier and doesnt get tossed around with a lighter manageable hose, can be pushed with one hand effortlessly, can also be kinked without damaging inserts reinforcement or causing flat spots. But like i said, why would you need a 85bar "DROP HOSE" unless your using it to connect to a static line.

Dont know about sucking with hose on anyway. The good ones are made of better type compound rubber. They do become compressed with age I agree on suction, but each to his own, I prefer to take it off after every pour clean the tip, inspect etc.

We use them more to save our backs. I'd prefer to go home and still be able to walk rather than stumble through the door, each to his own. The 100mm hoses don't last i agree.

Cons are they are hard to find, and price are more than steel belted.

had a 4.5 inch drop hose from con-forms. kept a log on my yardage and got an honest 52,000 before it wore a hole in the rubber 6" down from the clamp. Always had a steady full hose, and sucked a sponge threw it everyday. never any problems and the crews loved it.
