Mud cup one to mud cup two. come in do you hear me? I changed my first mud cup today. 98 Putz. I did the passenger side. I think this may be the easy side. Went really well. It was kind of like my first girl friend. Little bit of poking around to get the confidence up and then give it to er! Question: My disturbance button brought the passenger side rod up enough to do the deed. Is it possible to do the same with the drivers side or must I mess with the lever on top of the rams which seems to be pretty tight where it is. Thanks, Seed |

you will have to turn the tap ontop of your pumping rams this is called a kep valuve it lets the oil past the hydrulic piston so you can get the pumping ram right back in to the water box dont for get turn the tap back after you changed the piston head (mud cup) |

Greedy, As of now this valve is in the 9 o'clock position. I tried to move it any way today. It was solid with no movement. Any suggestions. I did not want to break the handle. Thanks! |

They will be tight. just check that the handle is on the right way sometimes they put them on the wrong way and the handle wont turn, otherwise undo the line and let the pressure out but make sure you have a drum to catch the oil. Works for me |

The new Zoomaline concrete pumps have a piston head that is easy to change. all you do is undo the proxcimity mounted inside the waterbox and the ram pulss the entire piston out into the waterbox and you just undo the cup of the end and put the new one on then the ram pushes it back in and you put the proxcimity switch back in and your all good. Its quick as and all pump makers should have the same or similar. Zoomaline is chinese i dont know if you have them in the states> I will try to get some photos for u guys to see

I will check the handle, Thanks! As far as the KEP valves tightness. Should I be able to move it by hand, put a pipe for leverage or get the persuader (HAMMER)( kidding) Do I do it with the pump off or while it is running? |

We have 6 static Zoomlions here !! not a bad little machine your right about chaning the piston caps there really easy , there new machines also allow you to switch between high and low presure with the push of a button, not a bad idea i suppose I think Zoomlion`s boom and leg setup on alot of there machines are far too close to an antonelli setup maybe they asked really nicely for the blueprints LOL |

Seed, the valve should move freely by hand,if it doesn't the valve is stuck because of lack of use.I would suggest removing the valve and freeing it with a good soaking of penetrant, rather than forcing it open with a "cheater".When you get the valve functioning properly use it periodically so it doesn't freeze again. When you re-build your jugs use a cheater pipe on the thru bolt to make sure everything is tiiiiiiiiiggggggghhhhhhhhtttttt. Also keep an eye on your "bone" bolts for the next week or so,a cheater should be used there also. |

I spoke with my service provider and he clued me in on the little lock washer on the Kep valve. I have brought it up in the water box, I am having some lunch and gonna go bang it out. We are getting hit pretty hard with snow. 8 deg f. Good maintenance weather in a shop with no heat. Surprisingly. It is not all that bad. Thanks for the e-mails and advice on this pump maintenance issue. It makes a big difference! Seed |
