had a pail of grease siting on top of drivers material cylinder, the water hose under the pail. the auto greaser needed to be filled, so i grab the pail. the pail and water hose were melted to the material cylinder. as ideas on how this came to be? had a week off and filled the auto greaser my last day |

Spontaneous material cylinder combustion? Nobody operated it while you were gone? |

Sounds to me like some one "Dry holed" it |

with an empty greaser, i guessing it stayed busy which is good. there was water in the box on my pre-trip, but even if there was no water in there, would the drums get that hot? i ve had HOT water from mixers before but not hot enough to heat the barrel to melt a pail and hose. perhaps spontaneous combusting grease? |

Got MUD CUPS?
If it dry-stroked a couple jobs, they're TOAST!! Mught not have done much good to the cylinders themselves. Makes me wonder about the seals in the differential cylinders? Dirty from no water in the WB? Overheated hydraulics for the same reason? The WB water is an incredible heatsink for the pumping circuit. |

we'll see. i am asuming there was water in the WB. still though, could a dry WB make the drums that hot? never had my own machine to try lol

I would check my hydraulic cooling system I would think this would be your problem more than cups . |

well however it happened, im guessing the cups are toast. was able to drain the WB today and there was an army of black floaties flushed away. will find out in the morning. pudg, one thing i hate about the pump i run is there only the idiot light and the temp gauge built into the sight glass. would it have been so hard to have an actual temp gauge installed on the local panel? good news is ive havn't had an over heating problem with the pump to date. had a 150ft off the boom of 2.5" today with no problems. hope for the best and expect the worst :) |
