We have a new 07 putz 38z and the water tank has rusted through already. They are shipping us a brand new one painted and ready to put on but have not got it yet. This truck has had minor problems from day one. It came with instant hydro leaks, paint coming off of the pipe and rust showing through, and now the water tank has rusted through. At least it's under warranty, but you spend $500,000 on a piece of equipment you would expect better. I'm not bad mouthing putz, just think quality control has been slipping. thanks mike

Well Schwing has changed also. And your right they all had to cut back, because of cheaper imports eating up most sales, though trying not to lessen the quality to much.

Our Putz's are superstars so far at two years old now.

we have an 07 putz 38 z and had alot of little problems with ours also. no watertank problems butthe eng computer had to be reprogramed , had hyd leaks when we got it and a few other small problems.

The pump I operate is a 36 z Putz and same troubles it seems all the fittings had to be tightened up and the water tank has rust in it but the out rigger tank rusts faster so I would feed tank to tank just to keep the water clean other than that the pump works great. The big issue with the pump is the decals come off way to easy and they have to replace them all.

Best tank sealer I have found to prevent rust is U.S STANDARD FUEL TANK SEALER . CHEMICALLY BONDS TO METAL

mrmike sounds like it may be a refurb, i currentley run a putz referb and it is awsome until i changed the hydro filters today and found metal shaving residue on the magnetic rod, WOWE, Ive seen a couple of schwing refurbs that had serious issues to. 

i use water softener cartridges in my outrigger tank to prevnt rust. they seem to be working so far. ur shop foreman did not want us to use the outriger tank but he gave in as long as we use the cartridges, i like having those tanks for counter balance as well as extra water and fuel.
