I do make sure ALL water in drained at night and I do park it in a (unheated) garage, but I have still had trouble twice with some freezing in the water pump, hose and lines while in transport to job sites.I should ad it is a 2006 Schwing 32 meter. Any and all help is appreciated. |

your water pump and hoses should be drained until ready to use they should have drain valves for this and a little anti freeze in your water tank probably wouldnt hurt either |

Welcome: I use an airhose adapter I made to blow out my waterhoses.Just empty the tank and open the draincock below the water pump, and blow it out GENTLY. Works for me.Clears out the hose and the pump. |

Mudslinger, I am with you. That is the only way that you can be sure. |

Likewise, but I also put some used antifreeze in the line before I hook it up to the air tank. Make sure you don't blow up the plastic tank! Seen more than a few people do it by not opening valves or draining the tank first. |

I used to hook up air to my water nozzle and blow everything out twice to make sure that there is nothing in the pump or the lines. |

You can insulate your water pump with lots of stuff. Keep your water hose and nozzle in the cab while in transit. Keep a small propane torch in your pump for emergencies. Also a small bucket of calcium cloride pellets with a lid. When you put the calcium pellets in water, the water gets scalding HOT and will defrost most any thing. But be careful, too much will boil right through a plastic bucket. In my pump as we speak is an old, goodwill electric blanket that has saved my frozen ass several times!!! |
