I was looking at the photos that were just posted. Has anyone bothered to look at the outriggers and what is holding them up? Is this the kind of impression we want to give the public; that we can not follow our own rules about ground pressure? FIRM COMPACTED GRAVEL: If you as an oporator look at the chart in your ACPA literature you will see that 'FIRM COMPACTED GRAVEL' not any type of soil, not asphalt, not compressed crushed stone, not clay is suitable for supporting the weight of a 30m class boom pump (up to 40m). So the only place you can LEGALLY set up your 38m with just the pads is Concrete and COMPACTED gravel. All the photos that do not meet these criteria are not ACPA / CPMA / OSHA safe setups. Before you send in your photos (for some lawyer to show in court) you should have all of the PPE required for the job, a safety strap (on the hose, not on the coupler body) for each item suspended from the boom and a CPMA/ACPA/OSHA safe amount of cribbing under your outriggers. We know better / we better know, either way. |

Every one knows what it should look like. BTW I did not say it was any better here....... I just don't post photos. ;~) ps those booms over the 30m class are REALLY asking for a problem, ask the folks that have been in court, they know!!! |
