I run a volumetric truck and use roughly 1"-1.5" rock to mix my concrete. I am looking into purchasing a trailer line pump and any reccomendations would be appreciated. i also would like to stay with something smaller and managable for one person to run as an added bonus to run along with my truck.

I have enjoyed reading the discussions on this board and find them all very helpful and informative!

i am in louisiana...no one around here really uses the trailer pumps. wheelbarrows are the way to go around here. I figured i could get one running with my truck and make it a little more affordable to pump and get my truck some extra business at the same time! i do a lot of pool decks, extensions and driveways. just seemed if i could make the package pretty, it could start a trend.

i'm also in louisiana, have a trailer pump 1" to 1 1/2" you would need something capable of pumping through 4" system the putz tk70 is a good machine or tk40 for what your gonna use it for.

Cant you change to a 3/8" or so rock?  if you want to run a low cost trailer pump 2" line is what you want to pump thru.  it's light enough to move and load. if most of your work is 15 yards or less Id look in that direction.

Speedy is good source for you to bounce idea off. He's a pumper turned vol-mix owner.

Hi,oh yes mail speedy as he is on his game. You may very well have something there. The suggestion of a 3/8" mix is right on target, along with 2" line.Once the contractors figure out it is cost effective they will love you.Remember as I do,I pass along these costs as part of doing business and they should as well. Also the cost of a small line pump is cheap by comparison,an excelent thought.

TT-34 ( where do you guys get these names)

The small line pumps are many. Lots-O folks make them. I would ask some of the pumpers in your area what they think. Perhaps you have hit upon a gold mine; who knows. I can only assume that you have takled to your customers about this. That would be where I would start. Then the pumpers; then....... like I have said soooooooo many times. Find a person, or company that will help you if you purchase something either from him, or at his recommendation. You need someone that will get right in it with you. Look in the yellow pages for the dealers in your area for the type machine you THINK that you need, do your local research. Some guy in Timbuck-Four might want to sell you something and then just walk away.

Being a line pump owner is a lonely deal. You need an ally; they are much harder to find than a pump.

If you call me I will give you my opinion, which is good, but perhaps not what you need. The best help is in YOUR area code.

Give Chris Hutchcraft a call(225 675 8099) he is a dealer for REED TRAILER PUMPS and is in Baton rouge,la I am out of st louis and service reed in MO.He know pumps can help you with start up and mix designs also. I agree with other post. Try to use 3/8 or pee gravel mix so you could use 2'' hose. This would take less space for system on truck and much more manageable for guy doing it all.good luck Carl
