I recently have been given a 04 putz 38z with EBC to run. We have never had a pump with EBC so I have a few questions. I have been running it in standard mode and it works fine. When I switch to EBC the truck will not go in outrigger mode, you have to handle back manually to get outriggers. Is this normal or is something wrong? What is everybody's opinion on EBC like or dislike? I will probably run the pump in standard mode just because that is how I learned and it is easier for me unless someone can convince me otherwise. |

I think if you have a pump you have to learn al the ins and outs of that pump. ebc can be a nice thing to have on a pump for example the bounce controle, but first of all learn the posibilities of your pump in manual and then swith over to ebc. |

SUPERDOFFER: Yeah, that's true, even if you're not a rookie. |

As A brand new member to CP.Com I would like to get my feet wet. EBC is a good tool to aid an operator to do some jobs. There is a learning curve for an operator that has never been used to it or trained to use it. The manual from the factory will help with understanding the functions for the dial and joystick. Please feel free to e-mail me and we can talk about how is works, the story about the outriggers not working tells me there is either a fault in the system or a relay that is bad. Since I am new to the site I will be learning the communication part of the site, I think you can e-mail my account. I would sure like to help you learn how to use this tool.

My 36Z doesn't always know if it's a R or Z boom, so I have to correct it manually sometimes. |

Depending on how your unit is programmed it can default to Z or A frame style. You can override it to operate how ever you want. Check the manual for preferred positions. |

The Computer is getting confused. It likes to have the ability to move ALL the cylinders in both directions, this gives it the ability to move freely as well as provide Boom dampening. If the A is going over center it will get odd and might even Fault. Reposition the boom to get the A down a little. In Position #2 the left hand joystick forward and back will operate the D arm to a different position, the same joystick Twist the top left and right will reposition the A arm. This will help to avoid the A getting over center, You can do this as you are booming on the pour, or while waiting for mud. |

As a new member i never used EBC but i think if you only use that setting then you'll get used to it and you might forget how to use the boom in manual mode the way we all learned better off to use both I my self would probably only use EBC on big monolithic pours maybe walls I'm still not quite sure how EBC really works |

One thing I'd like to add i really don't trust the EBC yet although I never used EBC I can't say much about it but I like to be in total control of the pump if something happens I want to be able to say that I F***ed up I don't want to blame the truck |

When switching from manual to EBC make sure you give computer a little bit of time to figure out where all the section's are before you move any section's other wise it get's a little scarey. |
