As the work gets harder to find and keep you might be asked to do more and more unsafe procedures. The old ‘well the last guy did it’ changes to ‘well the next guy will do it’. You operators and owner operators are really up against a hard place in hard times. One of these days, in spite of everything our government may do to help, things will get better anyway. It is imperative that you come out the other end of this deal with a clean accident record and a clear conscience. You may need to practice your power of hypnotism or reason or however it is that you convince the contractor to do it the safe way – without losing the job. Your persuasive powers are as important as any of the other skills required to be a professional operator. It is up to you to see that next year we are all here to enjoy the holiday season. No hits, no runs and no errors. Everyone on the job is counting on you. Happy holidays to you and your family. ;~) |
