Todd, what you must know is that the ACPA is only as good as the men involved in the ACPA, some great men are in the group and yes some extremely self-serving men also but remember if the good men get out because the bad man are there than there is nothing but bad men left. I would think the ACPA is worse off with you gone not better off. I know I joined the ACPA because of your site. Rethink your position. Thanks for your site. Concretepumping.com rocks.P.S. I love this message board, it has been really great over the last few months.SB

The Trade School is located in Kelowna B.C. it is just North of Spokane Washington in Canada between Calgary and the city of Vancouver. Kelowna was chosen for it location as it is a high mountain desert environment with summer temperatures in to the high 90

Those are good questions and all those including the profiles on the first two main instructors will all be posted on the web site and in every broacher that we produce. We are still looking for a late spring early summer start. Once the website is setup it will give more information on how we will be training the students and again we are mostly going after the individuals with little or no experience who want to run a boom pump. My experience within the industry is really not important, but here is a summary. I grew up in the concrete pumping business as my father owned/operated 12 pumps in a busy Canadian market. I stated pushing the broom around the shop and washing pumps at about 13-14: at 16 I was full time as a pump mechanic, welder and learned to run a line pump, and then boom. We also had flatwork crews so I spent two years running a placing and finishing crew. At 19 left the family business and traveled around pumping in 4 states and 5 provinces all different companies different machines techniques ect. I have owned or been a partner in 4 small pumping companies, and owned over 30 different businesses, which gives me the business background to plan and run the school. The idea of a school has been around for years yet no one has really done much about it. Why the school makes sense is very simple; what is happening today is that the existing workforce is getting older, smaller and will continue to shrink as the baby-boomers retire. Meanwhile the market for pumping as we can all agree is growing as the benefits of pumping become more main stream knowledge, and as the economy grows. Let

Gentlemen, civics 101 the democratic process consits of groups of different people expressing there opinion reaching a concensus of a majority and making an agreement thats good for most. If you wish to make it better, make thee effort and pay out of your pocket to attend and work the process for the betterment of all.Remember nobody spends as much money as the president to make everybody love him and can only get 51% on his side I appreciate the honest efforts of all the acpa members who work hard to make it better and to be criticized in the process by those who flap there lips and contribute nothing. Todd if what you say is true and I DONT DOUBT IT consider the self serving source but I would encourage you to also contribute and not be pushed aside voluntarily by some one who does not have a clue . that is my contribution to the process

You must do whatever you feel is right Todd. I myself feel it is a good thing to be certified. But it is kinda strange that anyone can be certified. I have know ppl whom were no even operators become certified. Safety is so important in our industry. Personally I think the real certification is when you are trained right. Not just a certification card which my 14 yr old daughter could take the test and pass. http://www.pumpoperators.com/brian/ I love to pump concrete. It is in my blood. I will do whatever it takes to do the job right and safely! Almost 20yrs under my belt and still learning.
