  MORNING ALL,     HAVE A SECOND FLOOR DECK TO PUMP THURSDAY WITH A PEA GRAVEL MIX   3/8 ROCK  BOTH SYNTHETIC AND METAL FIBERS.  IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS TYPE MIX?  ADDED CLEANOUT, DOES IT INCREASE WEAR ON PARTS, ETC.? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR RESPONCE.

Make sure the trucks are mixed properly as in no "chunks" of fiber.Yes,the steel fibers will wear parts quicker,but thats part of it.As far as pumping,no problem,of course the mix must have the right "plasticity".When using line always put about half a belly of water in the hopper before "priming".Mix grout to a milkshake like consistency and at the same time bring the first load of concrete to the desired slump,preferably 6-7.Lightweight aggregate is a somewhat different manner.Pumping through 2 to 3 hundred feet of pipe with oh say,6 hoses,4 inch from the boom out will not be a problem.Always wear good gloves when handling the concrete especially this mix because of all of the steel shards in the mix.If there is any post-pour chipping you will find out how tough this particular mix is.
