We only just sold a reaallly old 24 or 23 z. One with huge plateau shoes on the outriggers. Already had a new chassis once. I dont know how old it was but I think older than 93. I'll ask my boss tommorow for a pic. It's often these machines that bring in the most money.

Yeh a friend of mine has 2 of these pumps on 1992 still work every day and bring in same cash as a new one but without the large repayments so ideal for any operators that want to take the plunge and work for themselves ha had some late nights scratching my head tho

What Old?! The pumps built before 1995 should be used for scrap metal and condemned. Especially the old elefant trunk types should be used as boat anchors.

We should all get with the times, buy new machinery, invest in car polish/truck wash, big booms, euro 5 engines, schwing rock valves, putzmeister s tubes. Million dollar machinery, put our homes on the line and work for the same rates we worked for in the 90's.

Hey super dave it might have something to do with the fact that your hourly rate set at such a low rate probably got nothing to do with the machine

We'll I think it has everything to do with the machine. It's payed down so it cost much less to runn it so than the hourly rate goes down automaticaly...

ive got an old putz tvs m16 (1984) pumps like a dream ,just got twelve months ticket on it with out any trouble. been out to day pumped 120m of static line no problem at all, and sucked the ball back.SO WHAT IS THE POINT OF ME GOING OUT AND SPENDING 3000K A MONTH ON A NEALY ONE for the same money

back of old pump after we got all the old concrete off, and a bit of reshapeing

Dipstick why would you lower your rates just because a pump is paid for? They all do the same job whether they are paid for or not. Old or new. You determine rates by boom size not by loan size. That's a bad business strategy that will do nothing but screw you and all your fellow pump companies.

With older machines can come costly repairs and maintenance as well. If your out there low balling because its paid for will you be able to afford it?

FunnyBoom has raised an interesting topic in my mind.In todays economy why would one not charge what a piece of equipment is worth? A paid for pump is money in the bank, especially for a small fleet. The smaller booms normally don't collect the yardage numbers a big boom does. The extra profit helps cover the unforseen costs of a operation.

If the trueth be know I bet the big guys are reevaluating rebuild vs new equipment.Back in the day,on the farm, updating meant going from a '56 model tractor to a '59 model. There are some that remember farm aid in the mid '80's,a lesson was learned.
