We have a 1998 schwing 32m with the long rock kit, we do a lot of state jobs. it makes our jobs a lot easier! We called a 42m pump from another company to do a part that we couldnt reach, he didnt have the long rock kit, and needless to say he made a 3hr pour an all day affair.

Hello Speedy, just Curious about what the old thread brought out. when I bought this pump I was told it would handle tougher mixes? Ive had a few loads not want to pump but the diference in the mix was always very aparent, funny how you can pump 150-200 yards and concrete company will try and say this load is no different than the other 15-20... yes already rebuilt the augers.

concrete companys are always going to blame it on the pump no matter if it aint. the long rock will pump harsher mixes because of the added space at the bottom of the hopper. got more room for rocks to move i know the rock valves lack on that because the bottom of the hooper is smaller no room for rocks to move the valve wont shift on rocky mixes like the long rock. lol it sucks when you cant add cement or sand on the job to make it smoother and then drop the hopper if your valve cant move. i love schwings but man those putzmeisters twin shift s tubes are unbeatable i never had to drop the hopper during a pour since we got those pumps thats my oppinion.

My father's a die hard long rock fan, and if I remember correctly even had one specially put on his new 39 ( I know its on there, just don't know if they were an option a few years ago when we bought it) Anyways we've never had any problems pumping mixes with them.

The Long-Rock is still availible as an option on new equipment but the B-Rock will out pump it.  The reduction is in the valve instead of at the last 4 inches of the pumping cylinder.  If a B-Rock won't pump it you need a Gate Valve.
