Thanks Todd, combination of Dica pads and 48 inch long 4X6 timbers glued and lag bolted together in 3's. and yes, it is Putz 47Z, I really do like the Rolling Z boom configuration, The boom has much less bounce in the Z configuration when pumping close to the truck, also handy for working under tower cranes. |

Good call shortstick, that pic. was taken near YVR airport, always "soggy" ground out that way. Have you guys at Astra had any visits from Worksafe BC. to your sites in the last few weeks? They visited a job of ours a couple weeks ago, and I must say the inspector was very thorough.. Got out his tape measure and calculator to make sure we had adequate dunnage down for the given soil conditions... as well as checking for boom inspections tags/manufacturers short rigged working range diagrams ect... I personally feel that this is a great thing for the industry as a whole providing that it is enforced equally amongst everybody from single pump/placing crew operations to those running 10+ machines. |

sure did. WCB was at one of my sites, he watched for 10min but didn't say anything to me. i agree it is a good thing but it is a double edge sword. they're taking notice of boom pumps again. no new cranes going up. i hope that all operators take this as serious as WCB does. we've had two visits that i know of. one seems to get out unscathed. the other did not fair so well. play by the rules and WCB will leave us alone... a wise man said "Keep Doing It Right" PS, when your at LockBlock and you see those other guys in the hopper, please stop and explain to him the danger he is putting himself in and the damage it will do to our industry in GVA. see you out there keepin em tire side down |
