Did anyone look at some of the other ones. All of the pier rebar is rusted in the one I looked at. Nothing like having high building standards. Asia scares me.

Rust on rebar is not a problem if the pouring is done right , the ph (dont know the english word) makes the rust to stop . Nearly every pouring I do has rebar whit rust , very rare with painted or epoxi om the rebar... And I live in Sweden and We have high standard in our buildings and bridges...

Well Vasa here in the US or, most of it if the rebar is rusted it can not be used. The lime in the concrete will actually help it degrade more. This has been proven time and again by testing and, studies on failures on high stress structures. Back in the good old days we used to get away with using it but, not anymore. Im sure in some areas here it is still allowed but, not the majority.

vasa i think the standards are diverend in europe, i once had a poor canceld by the district supervisor because the rebar wasn't rusty. he say if the rebar isn't rusty then ther can be oil on the rebar, and the concrete can't make contact.

A fellow here that was a Super for a contractor in Nashville used to say that rusty rebar was better than not being rusty cause concrete will stick to rusty rebar better.

Yes superdorfer I do , I have done the "concrete class 2" so I can run a concreteplant... Next step is "class 1" for bridges and nuclearplants etc . But I can mix to a class 1 pouring if some one incharge of the plant have "concreteclass 1" so the next time I sitt in the classroom is for "1" .
