On a sixty M or bigger {Juggernaught} Do you pull a ball back, Where does all the mud go, and the prime do you use pacs or cement? Water? Port? Just wondering.

I have ran a 58m and didnt do anything different than I did on a smaller pump, did at times overflow out the hopper when sucking a ball back but that happens sometimes on a smaller pump also, and as far as priming I used slick pak just the same , never had many problems grout is always better but good luck getting the customer to pay , and the sacks of cement is just to much of a hassle

I always pump the hopper down turn it to 10 give it 2 more strokes A framed and put the ball in and have never had more than a hopper up to a 61 because the last sections get drained by gravity.

Slick pack on the 58M I run. Full throttle, strokes at max, has never let me down. The hopper has a lid so we put the boom away from anything/anyone and pump it down, then suck a ball back. No spill.

I ALWAYS PUMP MY HOPPER DOWN TILL I GET AIR OUT OF THE TIP HOSE, SUCK BACK AND NEVER HAVE MORE THAN HALF A HOPPER, AND THAT IS UP TO A 47. NOW IF YOUR HAVING TROUBLE SUCKING BACK BECAUSE YOUR SUCKING AIR IN THE HOPPER, JUST PUT ENOUGH WATER TO COVER YOUR MATERIAL CYLINDERS.

In my experience you get as half as much mud in your hopper after you suck the ball back if you pump it out with the boom in Z than in A.
Anyone else with that experience?

YEA, THIS IS TRUE. BUT MAN TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH, I CAN'T EVER GET MY SPONGE TO COME BACK IN Z, UNLESS I FOLD UP AND PUT THE BOOM IN THE CRADLE.

Yeah, it can be a bitch to get the ball back in Z if you got sticky mud, loose cutting ring, bad gaskets... whatever or just a bad day.
Setting it back to A usually works for me, adding water to the hopper I've had bad experience with, segregates a rocky mix.
