I use the 48inch electrical cable spools under my square pad for extra support. They are free at electrical companies and work great for me. If I need more I get what is available.

all of our trucks carry 12 each 4" x 8" x 4' rough cut timbers and it really helps and keeps the operator from performing unsafe acts when there is little or no suitable lumber to make sufficient dunnage, all pumps should be equipped with these or the dunnage planks that DICA manufactures.

I use Dica 48" x 48" x 1" pads under my 24" woodies, they are the best thing since sliced bread!! One can use them all day and bend them like a pretzl, at the end of the day they still take on their original shape. Expensive and worth every penny, I run an 02 Putz 36Z if it helps, may want more on a bigger pump.

well i use factory cifa pads an carry 4x6 on the truck..it looks to me that the dica planks wouldnt hold up on soft ground cause i kno sometimes that if i try an run just my pads the corners will bend up an itll just push the center down an it looks to me like thats what would happen with the planks

I have the DICA 36x36x2's on the 47..And I love them !!!...Those with the wood pad seem to be pretty bullet proof!!!

but how do the dicas hold up in the mud an real soft ground do they hold there ground pretty good or like i said do the outsides try an bend up an push the center down

I agree with stink21, DICAS by themselves tend to flex a lot when used on soft ground, but they work great when used in conjunction with timbers. We have 48" 4X6's fastened together in 3's with ready-rod, as well as 72" 4X6's in pairs.

I carry 20 lvl 6x4 1m long and the pads but i will always look for more timber when in mud or bad ground

I use the standard pads and 4x6s, 4x4s and, when it is muddy I look in the dumpster for plastic sheeting for under the dunnage. Most of my contractors will give me enough plastic if there isnt any scrap laying around. It saves alot of grief at the end of a pour getting the dunnage up.

I like to use LVL which is hard to find on job sites because it is so expensive but 6x6 and 8x8`s have always done well for me I was set up 2 years ago on a ramp and it had rained the night before so the clay was slick I put out 7 4x4`s ontop of a old piece of plywood and then 7 more 4x4`s and LVL on top I was set up on there for over 2 hours and then crack she punched through a sewer grate that was covered over with the clay. thie first 7 broke but the other 7 4X4`S held and the LVL

So to me when you are unsure more is always better than less This was the job sorry no front pics

38 are you talking about laminated lumber? IMost of my stuff is glue lams that the carpenters cutoff. We get given a bunch when our crane guys go out.

wood, wood, wood and more wood, i love wood, as i have said before, "picking up hardwood is a lot easier then picking up a (boom)stick".

My dica pads do fold on soft ground and if I see this beginning to happen i throw down 3-4"x8"x3' bridge planks on top of them and then my 2' square pads, if that don't work head to the shop!!! I will say though that I use the dicas more that one needs to for piece of mind and I tend to sleep well at night because of it
