Check and clean your battery connection If it is not good it can burn the starter out |

Or a failing battery/slow cranking will kill starters. |

Do you use Acid to clean your pump? Acid will attack the copper in the motor windings and cables. I have seen pumps that have been washed with Acid that have major electrical issues the vapors get into everything. Food for thought |

Never acid on my pump, battery is very clean. I spoke with a reed dealer, he said sometimes the vibration makes the key stick, stupid but hey it is what it is. Im going to add a push button start.
Thanks |

Here in Bemidji MN there is a repair shop called Terry's auto electric. They rebuilt all starters for usually under 70 dollars. They could save you money and also tell you what the cause is. I had my skid steer starter rebuilt last week for 65 bucks. |

Huh, my A40HP has a push button start. And like I said, it seems to be a common thing with that Perkins |
