Just wondering. I'm gona use a Pin Pour. Got it today but there is no user manual at all. Now I understand that it is no rocket sience to figure out how it works but for example: How big hole do you make in the hose to put the pin through. (just the size of the pin or should it be very tight??) And should the pin be at a specific distance from the end of the hose.

Just asking before I destroi a brand new end hose..

If I recall correctly; Put the pin-pour thingy on, mark where the holes go or drill directly, put pin in. Pump on!

Good thing that more pump companies in this country are thinking safety, as of today our company are banning all metal on the end-hose.

But the pin-pour don't work that well with stupid high slump and 5" hose, 4-4.5 is much better. But then you might as well just run with the hose only when pumping fast and put the pin-pour in when pumping slow or else you will wear it out FAST.

But it sais on the package that its only for 5'' hose.. Is that right?

Its a shame it doesn't work good on high slumbs.. Thats exactly what we use most on large slabs etc. Its not gona be easy I think to get the custumers here to be just as happy without the double 90 than with it. But we'll make it work some how :-) Guess I should go along with the thinner endhose thing afterall..

Don't know what sizes you get the new ones in, but we have some of the old ones with the special flange and clamps and everything in 4.5".

I say f... the customers, they don't own us just because we are on their job site.

They hire us and we do it the way we deem safe, not the way they wish we should do it for them in their way.

isnt this steel ? never made much since to me when the whole idea was to keep steel off the end of the hose, Id rather see a traffic cone used

No steel.. At least not on the outside of the hose. Although I wouldn't like to get that red knob in my face. But anyway a hose in your face.. with or without steel, knobs or whatever is always painfull... Its not like the rubber hose is ''soft'' or anything..
