I've operated a 37m Sermac for the past 2 years, and have just started putting the 3rd set of pipes onto it. Is this wear normal for this type of pump?

Piggy, from what I understand you have done 40,000 cu metres or 52,0000 cu yards with two sets of standard ST52 pipes.

mmmm

I guess I was never an advocate of piping only one section, promotes uneven wear.In the older days I pretty much had the wear areas figured out,not so today. Now on the flip side you still have pipe from the prievious piping you could use that to balance out the boom.

If not just pipe the boom and save the old for replacemt later. The old elbows work great as tip catchers to burn them up.A passing thought would be contact the folks at conforms (sponsor) and poise this question to them,or your current supplier.

Good Luck

I never got out of the habbit of flipping/rotating pipe either.Your agg type, pipe type, pumping volume all enter the equation.

Ihave a little sonic thickness guage and I ckeck and rotate pipe and only replace as needed.Saves alot of money the cost of the guage was about a grand but it has paid for its self.

Yeah, but those gauges only works on single wall st pipes.
But twin walled, like Esser, usually last 3 times as long or more so I don't really need one. :D
