Hey People,

Look at what POWERCRETE is curently building in Australia. They build their own pumping module with A4VG180 triple pump unit feeding 6" diffos driving 10" concrete cylinders all controlled with REXROTH Micro Controller.

A 48M 5Stage ANTONELLI boom will be fitted on this pump.

Would you like to own such concrete pump?

Ohhhh, must be some american humor I can't get. I thought you guys like....BIG...and FAST. However I forgot to mention that has 8ft stroke and has been provided to select 1 hydraulic pump, 2 hydraulic pumps or 3 hydraulic pumps as needed. You guys better get the concrete on the way before you leave the yard! However you guys enjoy there 60+M boom pumps! Eugen

That is the Power Take Off (PTO). We use split cardan shaft for engaging the hydraulic pumps. Eugen

Looks like one big headache.  Best thing putz ever did was the enterprise with just one A4-150 in it.  $10,000 fewer pumps on the thing, 1/2 as many hyd. leaks, more space to work under there, and you rent it out for the same price since prices based on boom length, not pump kit.  Has anyone out there replaced the tandem 125s with just one of them, I'm curious how that works out.  Thought about it, but never pulled the trigger.

Nice work, 100% credit for effort, however ehh it is only replicated putz technology they were using 2 or so decades ago. As long as concrete comes out of the other end, who's arguing ;)

Hey guys,

Looks like another 'tin shed OEM' from down under!  I will stick with the big guns boys.  At least the Asian's won't copy them.  What's the price tag anyways?

You said that was a pto between the first and secont pump? Why there? Are there 2 pto? Or are those extra 2 pumps for were in a hurry lets unload u in 2 min? How about a little more info! And if they are copyiny putz thats they are on the right path. I would take a putz ANYDAY over whats out there. If you run a 20 cell putz you know what i mean.

gwillett72 08-07-2009

well they are a cheap pump and you dont get the same reliability as the big boys , but its like anything you get what you pay for , not that popular here in aus for that reason ....

murf 08-07-2009
reply profile send pm notify

Eugen- nice idea but a limited market, the smallest you build is a 28- why not try a 16/20m with an output of around 70/80m hr max on the smallest chassis possible? We went thru this in the late 80's with putz and it was amazing how many brought new machines cos of the price difference and the appeal of it compared to a second hand machine.  If it wasnt for the work down turn over here 6 months ago we would now have a 21 sermac.

DIGGER 08-07-2009

Powercrete pumps will outpump a Huncrete anyday of the week. Concrete mix designs and the low slumps pumped in Australia present a problem for the Huncrete pumps. Hence, the low number of Huncrete pumps sold in Australia compared with locally produced pumps.

Reliability and low running costs on the Powercrete are also an attraction besides the lower capital investment. Kinda explains why the two largest high-rise concrete placing companies dumped Huncretes to go back to Powercrete pumps.

Curley 08-07-2009

Hey Digger, you talk with such authority and maybe have a lot of experience but how bout some simple respect for the people who gave us the modern breed of hydraulic concrete pumps. Here I am talking about the German's, first being Schwing and much later Putzmeister.  Your continuing use of the word HUNCRETE is derogatory, racist and offensive. Next you will be calling Korean and Chinese built pumps something equally derogatory.  Todd, look back over other posts by Digger and you will see what I mean.  How about keeping racism off this wonderful website and stick to facts rather than making  such unproven authorative statements along with their racist overtone.  Clearly you don't like them for some reason but the fact is our industry owes a lot to them so don't degrade yourself in front of everyone by making such comments. Apart from that have a good day sir!.

Curley,I refer to Huncretes because the two major ones do not support Todd's site on the far right of the screen.

Maybe the green guys give a little support.

Hmmmm What did I start? it was just an exchange of opinions! Anyhow this pump is well on the way and will be delivered before the end of the year. Will be driven by a 500HP VOLVO truck and price tag is a bit over a mil aus dollars! Wonder why you feel that the hopper is too small. Have a look on a hopper of a PM Telebelt. It is small and you never manage to fill it up because the material goes pretty quick! Will come back with pics when is closer to complete

Im a newby here but could not resist giving my 20 cents worth because it seems Digger is trying to lead everyone a little bit astray. Why??  Powercrete typically run 100-110 Bars concrete pressures in their Boom Pumps. Worldwide they are the only manufacturer I can find doing this. All others run maximum concrete pressures in the 70-85 Bars range because the actual booms and boom pipelines are rated to a maximum 85 Bars.  So with at least 25% more concrete pressure no wonder they will pump concrete that other boom pumps block on!!!.  The comparative low number of german manufacturer pumps sold in Australia is purely about purchase price in a very, very price sensitive maket.  Of course most pumpers would like a Schwing or Putz but they are 30-40% more expensive than the Asian and locally built pumps...so there's your reason in a sentence!.  Of course Powercrete pumps have their following but for serious high-rise or long distance jobs you will nearly always see a German pump on the job.  Reliability and running costs on a Powercrete are definitely not any better than a Putz or Schwing but they do have their followers especially from pumpers who are within a days driving distance from Powercrete wher they get 24/7 service. For sure Powercrete is built like a brick "dunny" (out house) and congratulations to the passionate people who build and operate them.

Wow.  That whole thing they are dropping onto the chassis is the catwalk attached to and around the pump?!  Awesome.

I figured that was just a jig to mount the pump and hopper.

nice.

Hi Robbo,

1. Most of manufacturers these days (even from asian countries) have an option of piston side or rod side (high pressure or low pressure) achieving more than 85Bar concrete pressure. On Powercrete pumps maximum concrete pressure can be selected according to job requirement via power regulation achieved trough REXROTH microcontroller. For other manufacturers to achieve 85BAR concrete pressure hydraulic pressures have to be at 350BAR which means that pump performance is at a minimum. The beauty of our ratios is that we can achieve 85BAR concrete pressure with a hydraulic pressure of 235BAR or 70BAR concrete pressure with hydraulic pressure 194BAR. At these pressures pump performance is not at a minimum hence why the POWERCRETE pumps will deliver.

The above is a reciepie for hydraulic pump long service life.

2. Most of the asiatic pumps fall in the same category. POWERCRETE always differentiate itself from those through high performance demanded by the concrete layer.

It's funny, what caught my eye was the Franna carry-cranes.  http://tinyurl.com/l2vcj8

Ausies have the coolest equipment, must have something to do with the unique animals they have too.

I also like their 'utes'.  I was dissappointed when it was announced that GM wouldn't be bringing the G8 'El Camino' to North America, based on the Holden Ute.

Doesn't Coime use Antionelli booms aslo? They look similar and have that Italian contour like a Cifa.

eugen_syd 08-12-2009

Hi TooTall,

Don't worry about dragass up ramps (hills) because truck has airbag system which is  dumped for pumping to bring the hopper down. When driving will revert back to ride height or you can jack up even further if required.

Any pressures over "recommended safe" 85 BAR through the boom is comprimising the boom design and safety. There is a reason ISO 9001 standards exist, with maximum concrete pressure 85 BAR through the boom. AND emphasise, that is not to be tampered with by any operator.

Robbo 08-15-2009
reply profile send pm notify

Hey Eugene, Good of ya to tell us more about what you guys are doin but i am still confused, how come Powercrete can run greater than 85 BAR pressures in their booms and no other manufactures will do this? My understanding from other pump manufactures is 85 bars is the limit and the higher pressures you can get by changing the diffos to piston side pressure can only be used connected to a static line but definitely never thru the boom. Please explain?

PUMBO 08-16-2009
reply profile send pm notify

The reason no manufacturer is willing to run over 85 bar through the boom is because for starters you need a unique interlocking delivery line, and pipeline as even highest grade 4.0mm twin wall pipes can' t withstand such pressure.

PUMBO 08-16-2009
reply profile send pm notify

If POWERCRETES circuit runs at MAX 350 BAR which most hydpumps achieve and their ratio gives 85 BAR at 235BAR,  at MAX 350 bar (hyd) is approx~125 BAR concrete press.

If that circuit they are running, with indeed that setup, its strongly recommended they copy PUTZ's hydraulic drawings from scratch (not legally of course) and consider running ROD SIDE drive through their booms.

Otherwise limiting the hydraulic pumps via a controller may do more harm than good long term.

eugen_syd 08-17-2009
reply profile send pm notify

Robbo,

Day to day pumping does not require delivery pressures exceeding 85BAR concrete pressure. Our solution alows better performance from the pump unit at relaxed hydraulic pressures  i.e. pump flow versus pump pressure(flow curve). Contrary to PUMPO conclusion we can confirm that lower hydraulic pressures on hydraulic pumps extend life of a hydraulic pump, no doubts about that!

Robbo 08-19-2009
reply profile send pm notify

Hi Eugene, Hear what your saying man and I checked the spec on a 20 cell putz which also feeds head size oil BUT the pump pipeline pressure is limited to 85 bars.  So back to my original question and that is how come Powercrete can run greater than 85 bars in their boom pipelines and no other manufacture is prepared to do this?  if I am not mistaken your machines when delivered pump to at least 100 bars or even more thrugh the boom according to ops i have talked to?

eugen_syd 08-19-2009

Hmmm Robbo, where did u see a 20cell Putz in Australia? How do they limit the concrete pressure?

Robbo 08-20-2009
reply profile send pm notify

Eugene, Actually i have no idea if there are any 20 cell Putz in Oz but if ya want tech info it is there on their website.

Please get back to my original question and that is how come Powercrete supplies boom pumps with boom line pressures greater than 85 bars (more like 100 bars ..you tell me?) and that no other manufactuer world wide will do this?

Hey Mate, Great pics and very nice kept pump. Sometimes have to remind myself that yoru pump goes to work every day. I would like to say that you kept that pump prestine. For everybody first pump is a 48M Boom 5 Stages and second is a 46M 6 stages (COIME BOOM). Well this pump will be a touch more powerful. We use 3 hydraulic pumps same like the 2 in your pump. 6" hydraulics comparing with 5" yours and 10" del cylinders comparing with 9" your pump. So we will use a first 500HP VOLVO EURO5 (first to be in Australia). So, is a little bit of a fist of everything there that is why we got so excited! Will be a ...."TOOL". Cheers, Eug.
