Price Preachers???

With all the recent yak about hourly rates and pricing, I dont recall anyone posting their prices as an example of a "suggested retail" fee for a concrete pump? I've worked in enough areas to know that rates are pretty standard between here and there with the exception of travel. I'm not an owner and I add my two cents where it does'nt belong sometimes. I'm an operator that is taking notes. After all, We're the ones that determine the value and secure the account.

In this area a 32m is going out for $100 pr.hr$2.00 pr.yd$40 travel,3 hr. minimum, thats an average standard. Even less if you're matching rates of another proposal to keep the account. These have been the same rates since the first c.o.d. I collected 17 years ago? I've also collected for $130/$3/$80 32m,  they all gladly wrote the check and called us back!

So what should everyone be charging for a 32m or any other pump? I've heard lots of complaints about prices being too low but no one coughed up any numbers?

TT,are you trying to hurt me? My brain doesn't punch in for 3 more hours.Lets see, there was O'Brian and Pumpco in Summit county,Co.I'm trying to remember but our price sheets was it,I was getting $125 an hr + $2.25 a yd,time on job plus 1 hr travel for an 875 thompson.I can't remember what we charged for a 2001 but the yardage/travel was the same.Oh,the years? 1980 ish.

I have changed the pump mixes a little and now call a company with a trailer line pump. The last one I recall was $100 an hour + $3.00 a yard, one hr travel at pump rate plus sc.

Personally I see with this downturn pricing may well increase for the ones that can whether "the perfect storm".

hey double T i posted my ball and slippy tube prices last month so iam with MANY as a bench mark. more for some travel and less for regular customers but my biggest loss of profit is contacting people that have not paid me while they call someone else and get charged more. go figure why that happens.

Be careful listing your prices on this web page. Everyone see them and if a market is getting a good rate there is a good chance that it will bring in 20 pumps from another company. If you’re in a market that is making money keep it to yourself.

Todd,very true.

TT,that was the 1980's.What a guesstimate then was a buck a foot on the boom.Remember back then the 36m was huge, then the 42m hit and all the contractors went into cardiac arrest.Oh,almost forgot travel time then was $50 an hour plus mileage.

Todd is right! I did'nt mean to sound like I was asking what anyones rates are. The figures I mentioned were an average, some charge more and others charge even less! I'm asking what we should be charging?

just sitting  here comparing your rates to ours in the UK and was wondering how much  does the following cost then:

tyres? operator?(roughly-dont want to start an argument here!!) gas oil/diesel? insurance? parts-(eg.set of piston heads )

based on a 32m???
