It's the same thing...only different. :) Naw, just basically the same prime but the mud it mixes with will take a lot longer to set up (usually) than the rest of the mud so you want to lay that down and spread it out. Then, lay some good mud over it. I've primed both ways and slick pack makes it easier because it helps to keep the mud from separating and lubricates the pipe a bit. Basically, just do it the same as you would with straight water. But be sure to keep the priming mud away from the finish surface so they don't have a wet spot when they go to finish. |

Get a couple of 5 gal buckets fill with water, when your mud arrives dump a pak in each bucket stir, put water in hopper then dump it in and pump, some guys in Tenn only use water, some guys ask for 4 yards of grout, I use 10 gallons of wet Bentonite in front of a sponge in my priming port. |

Fritz splits it into 2 half bags for me. 5 gal buckets then rinse out makes 15 gal. Stroke a few times then add mud and get rid of as much as you can before putting in pour. |

I pump in east tn and use a slike pack.I fill the hopper with water up to the top of the barrels and pour in a pack of slick willie, when I get to the job I pump 4 or 5 strokes and then put the mud to.never gives me any trouble. |

Be careful with having too much water, it may cause separation. I fill hopper to the bottom of barrels. have redi mix unload on the side the rock valve or S-tube is on. As the concrete drops over the valve, it pushes water up the other barrel so your first stroke is all water and you don't need as much water. That is how I do it and no problems and I came from a place where it is all river rock and sand, to a place that is all crushed limestone and which is also the sand in the mix. Still works the same. |

If you plug, I don't want to hear about it. But I say screw the slick pak on just the boom without system unless the boss makes you use it. When I do use any slick pak in the system, we use Fritz pak...It seems to work the best. Just keep an eye on the concrete because it is very different to pump and especially if you have to sit for awhile. It is very pourous and soaks up alot more water than west coast mud. |

Hey roadhog, I was also told that it is impossible to water wash this nasty concrete and a sponge must be sucked. They are wrong. You must have the same "know it all" guy telling you the same thing. |
