With clean pipes it shouldn't be too bad. The way I do it is: shift the rock to one side, stop the pump immediately. I fill the bottom just above the bottom of the material cylinder about an inch with water or primer. Start the mud in the corner of the hopper (same side as the rock). Start the flow slow let it flow over the rock and start to push the water into the open cylinder. (water is lighter than concrete). After the first stroke tell them to fill it up. Say a prayer and go. "A" frame the boom also. Two up two down.
Oh, i primed yesterday Dry again it was good mud, this was even the first pump of the day. I know "crazy fool" but it works. |

I never had a problem priming a 42m,so I have to ask. How much water do you use,ie how high on the rock valve? Do you prime at full volume? Do you stop pumping to soon? Do you use primer pack? Always start pumping before the mud hit the hopper, push water/primer ahead of mud. Let me know, here to help. |

You can try this I prime all schwings this way, hasn't failed me yet. Enough water prime pack mix to cover the barrels, "A" frame the boom with the tip in a negative position. 4 strokes at full RPM at 3/4 volume (this will place water into the slant pipe leaving little water in hopper). Tell the driver you are ready, just before the concrete hits hopper start pumping. Oh and make sure no body is near the tip hose or within 20 feet during primes.

Make sure it's at the very least a 3 inch, if the contractor wants it drier, mist it as its coming down the chute. Dont stop the pump before you see a good stream of concrete. |

Try sucking a ball back, then washing out conventionally. Then grout up with 2or 3 bags of cement mixed to a thick paste/sludge. Once you have mastered that then change the other practises such as water washing or priming with water /no grout. Start at the basics first. Was always taught that if you block in the boom then its the operators fault and no others. |

Install a groutport and use 10 liter of water , it worked for Me when I operated a Schwing with a long-rock.... I had the same problem before the grout port , but if you start the pump when you fill the water and flush the water in the cylinder some stroke and you have the water in the first bend... |

Are you leaving water in the boom after a water wash? If so it may be seperating mud on the way threw the pipe giving you a plug. 52 meter mix primer dump mud in hopper let it mix up and send it home seems to work better then sending prime up pipe first seemed to plug because by the time the mud gets to the end the concrete seperates and plugs. No expert by far hope this helped!!!! |

Another patent there Vasa. the sliding pin a sweet idea. worked for an outfit who had nothing but schwings for 25 years and counting, all his pumps had a grout port put on after factory (minus the sliding pin). i knew NOTHING about pumping concrete but i could prime without pluging. |

A reed comes with a ball catcher. Seems to me pumpstars and daewoo/hanwoo/everdigm among others did too. |

never seen up close any of those pump brands. putz, alliance and concords have ball stopper as well, all were welded to one side of the cap. |
