figure this would be a good way to stir up discussion.. what do you do when its hot and humid out while boom pumping? do you use any admixtures to help delay hydration? do you add sugar into hopper or retarder when job is completed?

You circulate the concrete back to the hopper. There is a product called delay set or you can use sugar. WHEN IN DOUBT WASH IT OUT OR BECOME UN EMPLOYED.

Delay set keeps it pliable for a half hour 45 minutes or so..sugar makes it unusable. Always make sure everyone knows it is crap when using sugar..make sure if you pump back into the mixer they know it destroyed the load..someone mighta called them saying hay I need a couple yards for a sidewalk..well after you sugar their load the ready mix company is shit out of luck..circulate delay set if you have it ..when your screwed on a balance and the inspector or contractor approves..you might have to read them what's on the bag..only use sugar when they aren't going to use what you leave on the ground, only when what is sugared is to be totally trashed..pump down the hopper..add sugar..circulate while adding water..suck sponge back..if you use a few cups full relax the shit will dry after it sits on the ground for a few days..but will never get solid..so drive back to the clean out area wether it be at the shop or the ready mix company and follow your routine. Every job is different ..someone who pays attention can tell when the load is ready to flash..communicate with the ready mix and contractor..don't lose your cool..set a limit..if no delay set..wash it out and reprime..always try to keep a professional additude.
