Happy New Year to ALL.

Got curious about Rookies question concerning RPM with 08 Macks pushing a Concord kit.  I like 1450rpm with a 07 Concord 170, 1750rpm with a 02 schwing 2023-5 and all it could get with a 06 alliance .18 all on Macks.

Wonder what other operators find to be the most effecent rpm for a pump brand/kit/truck model and year.

I always found i matched the rpm to the concrete more than the truck , per say, depending in how wet or dry the mix i play with rpm and volume to limit boom bounce and keep the hose full. I also fouind that can change sometimes (especially on big booms) as you stretch out more. but some of this goes back to black and white booms as well . I always found with this in mind it doesnt matter what brand you run.  hope it helps rookie.

  Hey Shortstick

I  spoke to Mack a few times on this. Sparky is right, I usually go more by the concrete and volume than anything. The 400 HP Mack does not make any more horsepower after 1400 RPM so keep that in mind. Also keep in mind the lower the rpm, the less fuel consumption, less heat and noise. I know of some operators that operate at 1200 all day.Of course there are times you will need to give her full rpm when (as Scotty says to captin Kirk, "I'm givin her all I've got), but that doesn't happen very often

By the way, how did you get your username???

im with sparky i run a 20 cell putz and i hardly ever run it wide open usually around 1250-1300 unless its a boney mix then every now and then u have to pour the coles to it but mostly its the slump what psi mix and just the way my pump handles it i try and get it to where it operates smooth while still getting the yph out of it

On my reed which has a 460 mack I run it just above idle, unless its a big pour that I need to push high meters through but for the average house wall just above idle.

I donk know that much about Concords but Im with pumperdolittle. With my 06 Mack pushing a Putz I run it 2-3 clicks above idle on soft shift. Switch to hard shift and bump up the rpm for bony mixes

Is anybody running an 08' Mack at low R.P.M,s and having any problems with the regen system? I was under the impression R.P.M's needed to be at a higher for regens to work properly!
