Hi there,  I am assuming you can view the top of the outrigger cylinder from the top side of the outrugger leg.  I would try using a reciprocating saw or small zip cutoff wheel and cut the pin on both sides of the cylinder from inside the top access to the outrigger (Order a new pin).  Once you have the cylinder removed from the outrigger you can place it in a press and remove the rest of the pin from the cylinder.  I have found that the pins seize in the bore of the cylinder and not the outrigger so usually the part of the leftover pin inside the outigger should come out with a magnet or pick. When you go to reinstall cylinder and pin if you use a bit of anti seize in the bore of the top cylinder pin and on the pin itself, it will make life easier next go around.

Call putz and talk to service and see what they recomend. Also tell them you heated outrigger red hot as that may be a new issue.

This what you are saying you can do it for other outriggers but This one you See The pin from one side only . To see The pin from The other side you have to cut The Top side of The outrigger

so there is no access port in the top? On Alliance Pumps (Jun Jin) there is an access port which is siliconed and tack welded so no moisture or debris can get in from the top, but if you remove this you can access the top of the cylinder, I agree with dlee7729, how hot did you get that outrigger? did you have a temp stick to make sure you didnt heat it above the reccomended warming temp?

Only one access port from the top to pull the cylinder but only one access port for The pin-Which is in The picture. I Think We have to send it to putz

That pin only comes out one way. I would put a bolt in the end of it and see if u can get it to rotate

Actually you can drive it into the leg, there is a hole to allow it inside. Once it cools down try to drive it in. Remove the back cover for the outrigger box on the other side of the truck and look inside. If you can’t get it to move then Oxygen Lance is another option.

You should have your PM rep check  the heated area though, the surrounding steel can be compromised. You don’t want to weaken the surrounding steel by applying more heat.

I did one seal on the exact same leg once. The best method was to use a magnetic drill with different size cobalt drill bits, and drill the pin starting small size 10mm and then drill medium 15m and finally drill 20mm. The pin is actually soft material so you should chew right through it.

You will have to lube the drill head with gear oil or cutting oil so the drill bit doesnt go blunt due to the heat. just work it and work it until you get to a size that has weakened the pin enough internally without oversiding the daimeter of the pin.

Ideally, if your fussy, then you can weld a steel rod and improvise a big enough slide hammer design to yank it out...

If your not so fussy put a bronze bar inside and give it a good smash with a sledge hammer. It will be in the leg forever...but thats that trade off.

What happens is over time the rod actually bends like a banana inside the cylinder which means on that type of design it is impossible to extract. you might get a quarter of it out but the bend can make it near impossible to extract. Do not attempt to bash it out and mushroom it out because then it can get real ugly.

If you perservere anything is possible :)

Also another option which is simpler is get access from the top of the leg by removing the cover and use an electric hacksaw with a good metal cutting blade(s) or sabre saw to cut the pin at the cylinder end and extract the cylinder then press the pin out.

I think the best way is to use the magnetic drill. It will take time but better than other ways and no need to cut anywhere in the outrigger
