I guess at the factory putz. destrokes the A10V28 accum. pumps by about 60%, probably to decrease wear I suppose. Just wondering if anyone else has been turning them back up to really be at 28? Anyone done it a long time ago and run into problems? When the bladder goes, is it any better at shifting over without it? |

i dont now about destroking them but if you accumalator bag is split how ever big your pump is the trunk or s valve wont change over as the bag holds the same amount of oil as your change over ram the last time my accumalator bag split it was just as much as i could do to wash the pump out had to run it flat out to get the trunk to move over |

If you have enough oil flow it'll shift over the S-tube with a blown bladder, the bottle is still filled with oil, it's just like having a line directly from the pumps to the plunger cylinders. To run one without an accumulator would take at least a 60 and probably a 70cc pump, and I just cannot find any small enough to fit up in there on most Putzmeisters. Oilgear makes one real compact, but on most of the putzmeisters they're still about 3/4" too long. Now I'm just turning them all up and hoping that 28cc will be enough to just shift the s-tube to get the boom clean. |

putz has used the same pressure setting on the a10s for as long as i can remember |

Volume, not pressure. |

I know of people who have mounted and plumbed a spare accumulator bottle and kept it valved out until the primary fails. Check the pressure once a week or every two weeks. When you drive 6 hrs to a job, the last thing you wanna do is finish with a blown accumulator or buy the mud. I would imagine this is quite a bit cheaper than retro-fitting a new hydraulic pump. |
