Normal procedure for setting up a putz was to open outriggers and level pump.By doing this the hyd. oil was warm enough to cycle the pump without frying a feed pump. The pump was then cycled at a medium speed and pressured out on both sides by way of the "disturbance" switch. This seemed to even everything out.A putz can also have a problem with "changeover" Ideally the the speed of the delivery cylinders should accelerate greatly for a microsecond which enables a smooth "shift".Test this by cycling the machine at high rpm,and low delivery cylinder speed. With the protective guard on the water box, watch your pistons as they change direction, you should see rapid acceleration when the piston changes over. This is controlled electronically.Putz has alot of variables that dictate how a machine acts that can easily be worked on by any semi-competent "mechanic".I now operate a sch----,in which all I do is sweep the floor-board....and plug in the hopper light |
