is anyone else having problems with the new transponder safety switch for the hooper grate. i have an 2012 putz with only 3300 yards pumped thru it and we had to replace the switch once and the bracket that mounts it to the grate has broken in half twice, the second one only lasted two weeks.this whole design is a piece of crap, the old style of switch worked great with no problems on our 2006 model.

Have you contacted the Customer Support Group CSG on this ?

One thing to check for sure is the Vibrator, the weights on each end of some vibrator’s did get set a little to strong for most mud, please pull the end cap’s and set the intensity to about 40 %. Having the vibrator on all the time will also be hard on the system, the aluminum bracket gets shaken a lot when the mud is wet, or low hopper, the grate did get lighter so the amount of vibration needed isn’t  as much as the older units.

These are New for us, and will have some growing pains, thanks for helping us provide a safe and better unit, please keep in mind that PM group world wide is always learning and growing. And we are listening to feed back from the field.

Also PLEASE resist the desire to bypass any safety components on any pump. You the customers are the best feedback we can ask for.   Cool

Thank You

Alan W

We run 2012 model 47 mtr putz here there's 6 of them spread over 3 jobs. All of them have rear mounted vibrators I have not heard of any of them having problems. Whe use a lot of 80 slump concrete where the vibrators are on all day

The rubber is an old piece of telebelt so the vibrator stayed clean

the issue is not the vibrator , it is the bracket that mounts the transponder to the grate for the safety cut out. i checked the vibrator today and it was set to high so i changed the weights around to tone it down and we will see how it does now. thanks for the help alan, you and dave hirt are aces in my book

Thanks gilrod for the vote of confidence,  PMA is working on improving the bracket, and glad you found the vibrator weights set to high, that will also help the grate to last longer as well.
