on a 2000 putz 42 m on a mack truck it doesnt want to rev up past 1300 when pumping.Checked out relays and alternator all good.doesnt make a differance if u use remote or main control still the same anyone ever have this problem

Does the machine have 'EconoGear'?  If mine's in 10th (EconoGear) it only revs to 1300 but if it's in 9th it will rev to 1700.

yes it does but its in the right gear same gear as i always used but thanks fro the tip anayhow.

I have never seen that before.  Sounds like a problem in the computer though, if you're getting normal throttle control between 800 and 1300, and when it's out of pto everything is normal.

you probably have a 8th or 9th gear loc out issue,depends on the trans.the loc out switch is mounted on the trans,it looks like the reverse switch mounted next to the shifting tower.try unplugging the switch and see if you get the rpm's back.but beware if this is your problem,econo gear has no protection as to over revving past the max setting

I had the same problem with my 42 that was an 05. Mack has a faulty program in there module. Only way to fix that is for mack to erase all data on module an input new data one program at a time. The specs on the module you have are fine just corrupt. Tell mack to make a copy of your specs before they erase all the data or they will never get it right. While they are in there tell them to upgrade your steps to version 12e gives you better fuel mileage and power. Oh by the way putz sometimes puts a password on the module it is (FORBIDDEN). If you don't get the problem fixed soon then you will be setting on the job with nothing that works. Hope this helps.

You need to reprogram com maybe its picking up code from truck and going into a fale safe mode? get it scaned.
