Putzmeister expands in Mexico
31 March 2014 Concrete pump specialist Putzmeister America Inc has set up Putzmeister Mexico, with plans for a manufacturing plant in Monterrey. The new 50 000 sq ft plant will manufacture concrete equipment and other industry-related machinery. The Monterrey location, approximately 125 miles from the US border, will allow products to be easily distributed to the US, as well as providing access to Mexico’s main ports for export to Latin America. Production is expected to start in summer 2014. “Creating a division of Putzmeister America in Mexico has been a goal of ours for a long time,” said Dave Adams, Putzmeister America’s president and CEO. “The central location of this division and manufacturing plant will allow us to better serve our customers in Mexico and throughout Latin America.

What is wrong with being built in America, I hope they don't close their American plant, being 130 miles from our border does that mean they will ship to the USA, I would never knock Putz they build good products, America keeps and all these trade deals we lost all the good jobs.

It mostly has to do with our extremely high Corporate tax rate here. Its much cheaper for companies to do work elsewhere.

I've been to the Sturdevant plant many times. Any idea if they are moving some of those lines or operations to Mexico, or just expanding? Hate to see any lost jobs. They are a bunch of great guys.
