I know now is not the time to buy a pump with the way the market is right now(at least in central WI.) but if a person was looking to buy a pump for large res. small commercial is a 36m enough? I'm thinking now,but if you can keep the single axle up front do they turn much sharper or take up a smaller footprint that most of the twin axle up front trucks? I know I will buy a re-furb or older machine so all of the new truck with a better set-up are out of the question. I currently own tb105 belt so I know what a big turning radius is. Any info would help, I've been known to do crazier things before so buying something right now is not totally out of the question. (how bout a older re-furb 43ish) Thanks Terry |

Crete, I don't know about where you live but here in GA pretty much all 3 axle trucks over a 32m are a permit load. But you are right about the turning rad' of a 3 axle, it is sweet. Pumps are going to keep getting cheaper for a while; lots of folks going into the going out of business- business. Hang onto your money for a bit; there are better deals yet to come. (now all the used pump guys hate me) oh well ;~) |

Weight laws are different in all states, for example a 58 here in NJ can run on 6 axles where in some states it can't run at all. Anyways, I personally would not buy anything smaller than a 52ish size pump on four or more axles, I don't think it pays. a 39ish on 3 axles is a great pump for the turning radius and you can get it many places. If you were to buy a 42ish size on four axles you would be losing a lot of flexibility for only a few more feet. Just my opinion, and I don't agree that now is a bad time to buy a pump, it all depends on the market you are in, in your area of course. |

A 36-41 on a standard 3 axle truck is the way to go. No need to evan look at an old tank. The deals are on the way! Nothing smaller than a 52? Not a very good residential machine! The big guys have trouble paying for the large equipment. I can't imagine a 52 being your first pump. Remember NY! |

I ran a 39m for awhile and it was very nice. You could get it around and setup on some pretty tight jobsites. |

You can always move the pump but you can't always set up the large pump on a small location. I love my 39, but the 34 has a small foot print, turns tight and is easy to setup. Plus i always carry an extra hose. |

I have to say the 34m is an awsome machine.I also ran a twin steer 39m and loved it as well,a tad more work getting in sometimes (but that was comm jobs).I seem the remember fraust laws in your area during breakup, another consideration.I know the 42m outriggers are sometimes a chore in some situations. At rbauctions they are an unreserved sale, meaning once they sign on the dotted line and deliver machine it's sold.Check last sale in FtWorth for rb,seemed to be some fair prices for the buyer. |

RB Auctions, right now if you are going under and your machine goes to auction it will bring tears to your eyes. Now is a great time to buy if you have the money. The last auction prices brought 25% of cost new. Of course the machines were 9-12 years old making the residual of a concrete pump one of the worst assetts of the construction industry. Having said that, anything related to concrete in auctions the price has fell in half of what it would have sold for 6 months ago. I have seen some mixers that 6 months ago would have brought 35k going for 15-20k. |

This is the first real major downturn in our area and I'vebeen around about 22 yrs. When things start to get back to normal I assume the resale prices on used stuff will creep back up? Meaning what my own truck is worth? Terry |
